Did you assume that cannabis policing has been on the decline in America? Wrong.
In 2021, the year of the January 6th Insurrection and the ongoing COVID pandemic, we saw the Drug Enforcement Agency escalate its war on weed.
5.5 million plants were seized in 2021– and more critically, 6,600 people were arrested for marijuana. This represents a 22% rise in confiscations and a 32% increase of arrests from 2020.[1] The DEA’s priorities are skewed, promoting prohibition that seeks to harm.
What about the taxpayer resources provided to the DEA that have been utilized for cannabis confiscation and arrests– do you feel safer because of less cannabis specifically? We do not.
Especially when in many states adults over 21 may walk into a dispensary and purchase as much product as they desire.
Thank you for being a voice in this fight and for organizing for marijuana legalization. We could not do this without you.
With Gratitude,
