We believe in green. Legal green cannabis to green-friendly environmental policy, BOWL PAC embraces that the future is better in green. From cannabis to environmentalism, these intersectional justice issues call on all of us to organize.
Our friends at Daily Kos reached out to us with some pressing news: New studies have found that our rainwater is contaminated with highly toxic chemicals known as PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances)— or forever chemicals.[1] They are called “forever chemicals” due to their propensity to remain toxic for indefinite periods.
As leading proponents of cannabis legalization, it is pretty easy to recognize that one of the ingredients of growing marijuana is water. Contaminated water, among a plethora of disasters, would disrupt the safety of cannabis products (not to mention our general health). This is why we are joining our partners in demanding the regulation of these forever chemicals.
The health calamities associated with these forever chemicals must not go unnoticed. Through all matters of public health, we acknowledge how governmental failure often targets the most vulnerable members of our communities.
Taking a stand for a green future– from environmentalism to marijuana– is a future that will be more in line with our values. Thank you for your active participation in securing our future.
With Gratitude,
