Junk fees and marijuana… really.

Our financial system was built to enrich Wall Street over everyone else, keeping working families down while billionaires and giant corporations can reap huge profits. Many Americans end up with no option but to go into credit card debt to pay rent and put food on the table.

And just like how the prison industrial complex gets rich from cannabis prohibition, credit card junk fees create huge profits for Wall Street tycoons. We’re fighting back. Will you join BOWL PAC and our allies at More Perfect Union in demanding an end to credit card junk fees?

Our financial and prison systems are both profiting off of people like you and me who are just trying to get by every day. By taking aim at credit card junk fees, we can begin to break through the corporate greed and put people over profits.

According to More Perfect Union, Discover made more than $400 million off of late fees last year. Capital One made $1.4 BILLION.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau found that $8 would be enough to cover the actual cost of late payments. Most credit card companies charge around $31, and some banks charge even more.

These junk fees are unfair, but they’ve become normal practice for credit card companies. We can’t successfully fight poverty and inequality without taking on junk fees.

Add your name to this joint petition today to demand an end to the unfair, unnecessary, and discriminatory practice of credit card junk fees.

Thank you for organizing for a better America.

With Gratitude,

Rhett
