In 2020, young people played a crucial role in sending President Biden and Vice President Harris to the White House. In 2022, young people were crucial to defeating prohibitionist politicians like Dr. Oz in Pennsylvania.[1] So it only makes sense that young people should be represented at all levels of our government.
Right now, there aren’t many roles and opportunities specifically for young people to engage in our representative democracy. That limits their ability to help shape the policies that affect them most—including cannabis policy. Young people need a seat at the table, which is exactly why we’re teaming up with Blue Future to call on Congress and the Biden-Harris administration to take action.
It’s the youth who will have to live with the consequences of action—or inaction—for the rest of their lives. Young people deserve a seat at the table to help make those decisions.
If Congress and the White House take these steps to ensure that young people’s concerns and perspectives are taken into account, we know they’ll help make the right calls when it comes to cannabis policy.
Thank you for supporting youth engagement in politics and for joining us in this historic fight.
With Gratitude,
