On Monday, October 2nd, we kicked off our week of action, by demanding President Biden expand his historic marijuana pardons. Today, we’re taking it a step further: we’re pushing for full cannabis decriminalization.
The recent recommendation by the Department of Health and Human Services to shift marijuana from Schedule 1 to Schedule 3 in the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) would not stop the policies that necessitate pardons such as those issued by President Biden. Why? Because possessing a Schedule 3 drug remains illegal, even if you have a medical marijuana recommendation from your doctor.
While we aim for more pardons from President Biden, it’s crucial to address the root of the issue: the policies that make these pardons necessary. Our mission is clear: ensure cannabis is fully decriminalized and seek justice for all harmed through prohibition.
As part of our Week of Action, please share this petition on Twitter and Facebook. Every voice amplifies our calls for justice.
